Reidoubting the Senate’s ability to lead…
After the Senate vote to pass the much ballyhooed bailout package, Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said,
“We’ve sent a clear message to Americans all over that we will not let this economy fail. This is not a piece of legislation for lower Manhattan. This is legislation for all America.”
NOT!
A redoubt is a small, and usually a roughly constructed, fort or outwork of varying shape, commonly erected for a temporary purpose, and without flanking defenses, used especially in fortifying tops of hills and passes, and positions in hostile territory.
In the heat of a battle, military men will use a redoubt for temporary refuge.
And we voters need to see this bill for what it is:
A redoubt for the politicians.
Did you notice how the bill ballooned to over 450 pages from an initial three page request from the Secretary of Treasury? How many Senators will derive personal benefit from the pork added to the bill they created?
What our elected officials fail to realize is that the crisis at hand is the crisis of a leadership that has lost its moral compass. It refuses to accept responsibility for its spending, greed and self-enrichment on the backs of America’s citizens. It fails to fix the root cause of the problems: wanton, reckless self-enrichment through the enactment of public policies that directly benefit politicians themselves and not their constituents.
They are the problem.
Where is the fiscal restraint in an economic crisis?
Why can’t they produce a clean bill with ZERO additional spending?
America needs leaders who see the needs of the country, and put the people of the country FIRST. And while the bailout may ease the credit crunch in the short term, it does NOTHING to address the economic problems facing America just a few years down the road.
Today, the politicians are in hostile territory.
And they know it.
Now we have the chance to flush them out, to make them accountable to us for all of the years of wasteful, reckless self-enrichment.
We must not allow the men who broke the system to hide behind this bailout, and then proclaim that they have saved us.
Those leaders who want to force us at crisis point down the road of government-sponsored socialism are the true enemies of the free market system.
We must save ourselves…from them.
America needs a Reidout…and a Pelosi out…and a Schumer out….
Our Constitution and our way of life depend on it.

You’re right.(Right is Right) And, those Arsonists you mention are now trying to put out the fire before they get burnt. The only way is to vote them out, or if the law is broken, lock them out/up. If the Dept of Justice recouped $55 Million from the former FM Executive, it must mean something was proved to be illegal. What is he doing in O’bama’s Campaign? By the way, before he was at FM, he worked for Clinton. There are politicians from both sides to blame, but I think the Dems have to take the brunt of the blame for this debacle. I still don’t feel comfortable with the “Bailout/Rescue”. I want no Earmarks/Pork, etc. Pass it on its own merit, if it has enough merit.
